I can't afford to do this, but it's only fair!
Last week, I was fired from Murphy USA... yayy! That job was total bullshit. I was fired because my drawer was short $68 from when I worked the Tuesday before last. Well, the Tuesday before last, I had two drive-offs totaling $68. They know that. Thing is, it's Murphy policy that if a cashier's drawer is short for any reason, even drive-offs, they must be fired. So, I was fired because two people drove off. What makes that even worse is that both people came back the next day and paid! :/
Also, Murphy has a new policy stating that no one can work more than 25 hours a week. They don't want to pay for an employee's health insurance, which they now have to do if an employee is full-time. Thanks a lot, Obamacare.
I'm not concerned. I'm going to apply at a few places tomorrow. One place I'm applying, Kindred (a nursing home), is for a housekeeping position. I know two people who work there, Jeff and Rena, my neighbors. Rena is an LPN there and Jeff is the maintenance supervisor. I'm going to use them as references.
It's not my dream job, but it pays well, good insurance, and it will do until I get on somewhere better! <3
In the meantime, my girl Peacepaw, aka
, suggested that I help her with art auctions. That's a fantastic idea, so we are going to be doing, and have been doing, collaborations. What's great about this is that not only is Peacepaw incredibly talented, and one of my favorite artists (not that I'm biased, she's very talented), but Peace enjoys doing the parts of commissions that I hate, and I enjoy doing the parts that she hates! Also, I am going to be helping her with fursuits now, so we will be taking collaborations on those, too! She is a brilliant fursuit maker, as well!
What I have decided to do regarding past commissions, since it is only fair, is to take a little bit of my payment from each auction and use that to continue refunding others in the past. I have been refunding, albeit slowly due to financial hardships and giving as much as I can, but this will help the refunding process a lot!
I can't afford it, especially now that I am officially out of work until I am hired elsewhere, but I believe it is only fair and it is the right thing to do. In the end, that is all that matters to me.
