Thanks again to everyone to helping with Dad's funeral. It's on the 28th. I can't wait until the service is done and over with and I can get on with my life.
Your donations have helped with the transportation fees, Erlewein's ransom they demanded and would not release Dad's body so he could go to the crematorium until that was paid (lol), and the cremation! That part has been taken care of for the most part!
Now the only thing I have to take care of is the service itself, renting a place to have it, getting everyone there, and everything else that applies.

Dad Passed Away [PLEASE READ]

First off, I want to thank everyone who has helped so far.
On Tuesday, I was checking on my dad in the early afternoon after he laid down to take a nap. I noticed he wasn't breathing. He was cold, no pulse, and had froth coming from his mouth. He had passed away.
For those who don't know me well, my dad was my best-friend and one of the few people I'm truly close to. I miss him terribly. He was very ill, but his death was unexpected.
Unfortunately, things are going from bad to worse! Again, Dad didn't have life insurance or any type of pension... nothing to help with funeral costs. Yesterday, I found out that neither Medicare or his SSD have any type of death benefits to help with funeral costs or cremation. That's BULLSHIT. What do they expect us to do? :/
The funeral home is wanting $4000 to cremate him and dump his ashes in nothing more than a Hefty bag and a cardboard box. Then there are transportation fees (picking up his body, etc.), which is averaging around $350, and then the fees to actually have a small service. We're not even doing anything big and doing most of the stuff ourselves and it's still costing an arm and a leg. I'm not even including gas to go pick up his ashes, go to the service, and a myriad of other hidden fees. That funeral home is the cheapest in the area. UGH.
How can they do this? How can they make a profit off of death? I'm going through a hard enough time as it is, this is the last thing I need. I'm pissed at Dad for not getting life insurance. He knew he was sick and on his last leg. He should have prepared for that. Yeah, his death was unexpected, but still... he was sick. He should have prepared.

I can't afford to do this, but it's only fair!
Last week, I was fired from Murphy USA... yayy! That job was total bullshit. I was fired because my drawer was short $68 from when I worked the Tuesday before last. Well, the Tuesday before last, I had two drive-offs totaling $68. They know that. Thing is, it's Murphy policy that if a cashier's drawer is short for any reason, even drive-offs, they must be fired. So, I was fired because two people drove off. What makes that even worse is that both people came back the next day and paid! :/
Also, Murphy has a new policy stating that no one can work more than 25 hours a week. They don't want to pay for an employee's health insurance, which they now have to do if an employee is full-time. Thanks a lot, Obamacare.
I'm not concerned. I'm going to apply at a few places tomorrow. One place I'm applying, Kindred (a nursing home), is for a housekeeping position. I know two people who work there, Jeff and Rena, my neighbors. Rena is an LPN there and Jeff is the maintenance supervisor. I'm going to use them as references.
It's not my dream job, but it pays well, good insurance, and it will do until I get on somewhere better! <3 In the meantime, my girl Peacepaw, aka
, suggested that I help her with art auctions. That's a fantastic idea, so we are going to be doing, and have been doing, collaborations. What's great about this is that not only is Peacepaw incredibly talented, and one of my favorite artists (not that I'm biased, she's very talented), but Peace enjoys doing the parts of commissions that I hate, and I enjoy doing the parts that she hates! Also, I am going to be helping her with fursuits now, so we will be taking collaborations on those, too! She is a brilliant fursuit maker, as well! What I have decided to do regarding past commissions, since it is only fair, is to take a little bit of my payment from each auction and use that to continue refunding others in the past. I have been refunding, albeit slowly due to financial hardships and giving as much as I can, but this will help the refunding process a lot!
I can't afford it, especially now that I am officially out of work until I am hired elsewhere, but I believe it is only fair and it is the right thing to do. In the end, that is all that matters to me.
